Potential
questions, answers and the reporting process.
Question: What
happens when I submit a potential problem on an
ethics concern form?
Answer:
The person who receives it, the ethics advisor or
the outside advisor, will review the information,
contact you to discuss it in private (if you provide
your name), determine an approach to review or
investigate the situation and decide if there has
been a violations. The next steps depend on whether
there has been a violation of the ethic standards
and whether you provided your name. If there was a
violation, Human Resources and management step in to
provide corrective action. If you provide your
name, the ethics contact will advise you of the
outcome.
Question:
Whom does the ethics concern form go to?
Answer:
You can direct the form to the ethics advisor,
Quincy Robertson, or the outside advisors, 2 King
County Board Members.
Question: What
privacy will be given the email?
Answer:
The email with the ethics concern form goes directly
to the specific ethic advisor of your choosing. We
will treat this as privately as we can.
Question: Will
Human Resources be involved in the process of
looking into a situation?
Answer:
Depends on the situation. Human Resources will be
involved at the point an ethics violation has been
determined. If you have requested confidential
treatment of your identity, great care will be taken
to keep your identity confidential.
